The SciLED Manifesto sets out the benefits that innovation brings about to industry
In the framework of the international footwear fair MICAM held in February in Milan, INESCOP publicly presented the Manifesto of the competitive advantages of partnerships between higher education institutions, research centres and companies.
This Manifesto expresses the views of the SciLED consortium partners, and has been developed to highlight and explain how collaboration between footwear SMEs and research institutions can be mutually beneficial to industry and the academic community. Now more than ever, it is vital to combine efforts and remove the barriers to collaboration between research and industry. This is reflected in the following video.
After the first half of the project, and once the study of the state of the art in terms of comfort and sustainability in footwear and training needs in companies has been completed, the new professional profiles of footwear designer and product manager have been validated, leading to the development of higher-education training materials. These contents will be taught with the help of innovative applications, such as virtual reality and augmented reality.
