Inescop joins Textile ETP to strengthen its connection with European innovation in textiles and footwear
Inescop has joined Textile ETP (European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing), one of the leading European platforms dedicated to connecting industry, research and innovation in order to shape the future of the textile and clothing sectors in Europe. The platform presents itself as the largest European network of professionals working in R&D and innovation in these industries, bringing together researchers, companies and key stakeholders across the sector.
This membership strengthens Inescop’s presence in strategic European networks and represents a new opportunity to bring footwear companies closer to the knowledge, trends and opportunities emerging at European level in areas such as sustainability, digitalisation and industrial innovation. Textile ETP also offers different participation options for companies, researchers and other sector professionals, and develops specific activities for its members.
Through this platform, Inescop will be able to engage more closely with leading European initiatives such as the Innovation Hubs promoted by Textile ETP, which focus on areas such as circular and bio-based textiles, digital transformation, and smart, high-performance textiles. These spaces are designed to foster learning, collaboration, information exchange and the acceleration of innovative solutions to address sector challenges.
The platform also plays a prominent role in the new European partnership “Textiles of the Future”, launched by the European Commission in 2025 under the Horizon Europe programme. This partnership, framed within the 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, is focused on the green and digital transition and on building a more resilient and competitive Europe. In its initial phase, it is expected to mobilise at least €60 million in research and innovation actions supported by public and private funding. Textile ETP is involved in coordinating this partnership and in driving activities for its members, such as community events, dissemination actions and collaboration meetings.
For Inescop, being part of Textile ETP helps strengthen the connection between the footwear sector and the European textile ecosystem, facilitating the identification of synergies, access to up-to-date information, and participation in innovation networks and projects with a European dimension. This presence will also make it easier to continue bringing companies relevant information on regulation, technological trends and funding opportunities in a context of profound transformation for the industry.
